Biosecurity Measures during COVID-19

Northwest Aerials views the safety of our students and staff as our first priority. During these unprecedented times, we are committed to implementing more rigorous protocols and precautionary measures that will allow us to safely welcome you back to the gym. This page will be constantly evolving as new information surrounding best practices becomes available.

Social Distancing

  • Stations and rotations are designed with social distancing recommendations in mind. This means that students maintain at least 6 feet of distance between themselves and other students with whom they do not share a household.

  • Flow of students, parents, and staff throughout the building is regulated to minimize face-to-face interactions; ALL doors are one-direction-only. Click the following links to view diagrams of how traffic flows through the building: Ground Level and Second Story.

  • The viewing area has a designated seating arrangement so that families maintain a minimum of 6 feet between them.

  • We encourage parents and guardians to drop children off at the front door. At most, we allow one parent or guardian to enter the building per child.

  • Hands-on spotting is eliminated for the time being. As the situation evolves, we will reassess this decision.

  • Drop-off and pick-up are designed to minimize contact between parents/guardians and the NWA staff. Cars will enter and exit the parking lot in a circular fashion, only parking in a parking space when necessary. We ask that parents/guardians keep their child(ren) in their cars until the start time of the program for which they are registered. An NWA staff member will be outside to facilitate both pick-up and drop-off.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

Cleaning involves soap and water while disinfecting involves an EPA-approved disinfectant. A color-safe bleach spray will be used on soft surfaces.

  • Stations are designed so that every student has their own set of equipment. When a group moves to a new part of the gym, all surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected in preparation for another group.

  • Extra staff members are on hand to clean and sanitize all surfaces throughout the day. All staff will carry personal buckets containing essential cleaning supplies.

  • Bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected three times per day.

  • The gym receives nightly cleaning/disinfecting as well as a weekly deep cleaning/disinfecting.

Personal Health and Protection

  • All coaches wear masks and come prepared with an extra change of clothes in case of contact with a student. Parents/guardians entering the facility must also wear masks.

  • Students are encouraged to wash their hands and sanitize their belongings before entering and exiting the building. Students have the option of wearing masks.

  • Our front desk has a sneeze/cough barrier installed to provide a layer of protection during face-to-face conversations between staff and families.

  • Anyone who wishes to enter the building will receive a temperature check and is expected to refrain from entering should they have a high temperature or otherwise feel ill. Students and staff with a high temperature or other symptoms of illness (as defined by the CDC) will be sent home.

Parts of our Facility are Off Limits

  • Drinking fountains are closed. Students are encouraged to bring a personal water bottle with them to the gym.

  • The multi-stall bathroom is closed. Students will have access to one of five single-user bathrooms.

  • Foam pits are covered by mats with wipeable surfaces.

  • The Party Room may only be used by one person at a time due to the limited entry/exit points.

  • The Preschool Room is temporarily closed in favor of using our spaces that have more room for students to spread out. As the situation evolves, we will reassess this decision.

  • Cubbies are off limits — students will leave items in their designated zone within the viewing area.
